Thomas Missing d.1788
Thomas MISSING d.1788
Born sometime after 1710, son of Thomas Missing of Stubbington, Hampshire, a Portsmouth merchant. He was MP for Poole 1741-47, and held various local administrative offices; he is noted as having built a workhouse at Poole in 1739.
Missing used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 20708); the extent and disposition of his library are not known. His brief will, whose scrappy nature called for separate testimony when proved, has no mention of books.
