Sir John HARRISON ca.1589-1669
Biographical Note
Son of William Harrison of Aldcliffe, Lancashire. Possibly matriculated at Queen's College, Oxford 1603, without graduating. He was clerk] to Sir John Wolstenholme ca.1611-38, and was involved in managing and collecting customs dues. He was MP for Scarborough and Lancaster between 1628 and 1669, and bought an estate at Balls Park, Hertfordshire.
Books
