Sir Lionel TOLLEMACHE, 1st baronet 1562-1612

Biographical Note

Son of Lionel Tollemache, of Helmingham Hall, Suffolk, from whom he inherited the estate in 1575. High Sheriff of Suffolk in 1593 and 1609; he was created a baronet shortly before his death in 1612.

Books

The Tollemaches were a major East Anglian landowning family and the family library was well established during the time of the 1st baronet, including manuscripts of East Anglian monastic provenance.
