Biographical Note

Younger son of John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Traquair (1624–1666), he succeeded to the earldom in 1673 on the death of his elder brother William Stewart, 3rd Earl of Traquair (1657–1673).

Books

Used an engraved bookplate (Franks 28455/*488): The Right Honble. Charles Stuart, Earle of Traquair. 1708.

The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
