Sir Arthur ACHESON, 5th Bart 1688-1748/9
Biographical Note
Born in Markethill, County Armagh, Ireland, son of Sir Nicholas Acheson, 4th bart and Anne Taylor. He succeeded to the baronetcy in 1701 upon the death of his father. Matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin in 1705 and graduated with a B.A in 1707. Acheson served as MP for Mullingar, Ireland from 1727 until his death. He also served as the high sheriff of Armagh in 1728.
Books
Used an early armorial bookplate (1711), Franks 72. The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
