Biographical Note

Son of Robert Eden of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, merchant. BA Lincoln College 1720, MA University College 1723, BD 1735, DD 1754; proctor of University College 1733. He was incorporated at Cambridge in 1734. Archdeacon of Winchester 1743, prebendary of Worcester 1747, of Winchester 1749, where he was buried.

Books

Eden used an engraved armorial bookplate, made while he was a fellow of University College, which exists in two states (Franks 9536-7); the extent and disposition of his library is not known.
