Biographical Note
Son of Michael Selby of Castor, Northamptonshire, gentleman. BA Pembroke College, Cambridge 1697, fellow 1698, MA 1700, bursar 1710, junior proctor 1715-16. Curate of Marham, Northampstonshire 1698, of Framlingham, Suffolk 1704; vicar of Grantchester 1707-16, of Waresley, Huntingdonshire 1718-29, rector of Framlingham, Suffolk 1728.
Books
Selby used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 26432); the extent and disposition of his library are not known. His brief will has no mention of books, and his entire estate was left to Mrs Philippa Lany of Cambridge.
