Biographical Note
Born in London. BA St Catharine’s College, Cambridge 1631, MA 1634, fellow 1637, BD (date unknown). Rector of St Benedict, Huntingdon; ejected ca.1660. “A learned man, a great school-divine, and a laborious tutor, who always had a numerous company of pupils of good rank. He died at an estate of his in Essex” (Calamy).

Library auctioned in London by William Cooper, 21 March 1683. The sale catalogue lists 1626 lots, plus 36 vols of pamphlets, subdivided into Latin theology (482 lots), Latin philology (i.e. miscellaneous) (605), English divinity (362), English philology (177).
