Biographical Note
Assumed to be the Joseph Starr who is listed as a liveried cooper of London in the two pollbooks listed in the sources below. One of the parties to a mortgage deed of 1705 in the Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre (BK52/8) about a house and land in the parish of Little Hereford was ‘Joseph Starr, citizen and cooper of London, and Rebekah his wife’.

He had an engraved armorial bookplate dated 1702 (‘Joseph Starr, of Little Hereford in the County of Hereford and of the City of London’): Franks *353. No books bearing this label have yet been located.
