Lord Charles KER or KERR of Cramond, d.1735

Biographical Note

Second son of Robert Ker, 1st Marquess of Lothian (1636–1703), he was appointed Director of Chancery in Scotland in 1703 (renewed in 1722).

Used an engraved bookplate:

Franks 17076 Kerr, Lord Charles, Director of his Majesty's Chancellary. (Second son of the 1st Marquess of Lothian, appointed Director 1703 ; died 1735.)

The extent and disposition of his library is not known.

His brothers are also recorded as users of bookplates: William Ker, 2nd Marquess of Lothian, and Lord John Ker.
