====Biographical Note====
Son of [[family::John Newdigate]] of [[location::Holt, Norfolk]], [[occupation::physician]]. Admitted at [[education::Leiden University]], 1726; MB [[education::Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge]] 1725, MD 1729. He initially practised as a [[occupation::physician]] at [[location::Watton, Norfolk]], before moving to [[location::Ipswich]] in 1748, where he died.

====Books====
Newdigate used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 21717). The extent of his library is not known; in his will, he left all his books, along with all his other goods, chattels and personal estate, to his sister [[family::Mary Newdigate|Mary]].
