Sir Francis KYNASTON 1586/7-1642

Biographical Note

Born at Oteley, Shropshire, the eldest son of Edward Kynaston (d.after 1638). BA Mary Hall, Oxford 1604. Admitted to Lincoln’s Inn 1604; called the bar in 1611. MA Trinity College, Cambridge, 1609. MP for Shropshire 1621. author of various works of translation, poetry and is the likely author of the tract True presentation of forepast parliaments written in 1629.

Books

Founded the Musaeum Minervae , an “academy of learning”, in 1635, at his house in London, furnished with books, manuscripts, instruments, etc, for the nobility and gentry.
