Sir George BEAUMONT, 4th bart, ca.1664-1737

Biographical Note

2nd son of Sir Henry Beaumont, 2nd bart, of Stoughton Grange by Elizabeth Farmer, daughter of George Farmer of Holbeach, Lincs.. Educated at New College Oxford matriculated 9 February 1683, aged 18, BCL 1690, fellow, DCL (by diploma) 1714. Succeeded his elder brother as 4th bart, 5 December 1690; to the estates of his cousin Thomas Beaumont, 3rd Viscount Beaumont of Swords at Cole Orton, Leics. 1702. Member of Parliament for Leicester, 1702-1737, Commr. privy seal 1711–13, Lord of Admiralty Apr.–Oct. 1714, Trustee, Radcliffe Library 1714–death.

Franks 1957: Beaumont, Sr. George, Baronet. (A large plate with 42 quarterings. Sir George succeeded 1690 as 4th Bart ; died 1737.)
