George FAIRCHILD 1672-1728

Biographical Note

Son of John Fairchild of Barnstaple, Devon, gentleman. BA Balliol College, Oxford 1694, MA 1697; rector of Aldrington, Devon 1709.

Books

Fairchild's will has no mention of books; his property, including the residue of his estate, was mostly bequeathed between his three daughters. His library was auctioned in Barnstaple, beginning 9 September 1728; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in Brice's Weekly Journal.
