Sir Henry PIERS, 3rd baronet 1678-1733

Biographical Note

Son of Sir William Piers, 2nd Baronet of Tristernagh Abbey, County Westmeath, from whom he inherited the title and family estates in 1693. He was High Sheriff of West Meath in 1702, and died of an overdose of opium in 1733.

Books

The Armorials Database records a small number of books, surviving in various libraries, with Piers's armorial stamp. The extent of his library is not known, his estates were inherited by his second (but eldest surviving) son John, who became the 4th baronet.
