Henry WALKER d.1563

Biographical Note

BA Gonville Hall, Cambridge 1525, MA 1528, MD 1532 (incorporated from the University of Angers), Regius Professor of Physic 1555.

Books

Walker's probate inventory includes ca.85 books, valued at £29 19s 6d (from a total estate valued at over £285). The books are mostly in Latin, with some Greek, with a predominance of medicine alongside some other topics. He bequeathed his books to Gonville and Caius College, on condition that his son George (d.1597) had use of them during his lifetime; it seems that the books did not reach the College. The full inventory is edited as Leedham-Green no.119 (see full citation below).
