====Biographical Note====

Strode was admitted to [[organisations::Lincoln’s Inn]] in 1698, the son and heir of [[family::Carew Strode]]. Together with his brother Edward, he was entailed property by his uncle [[family::Edward Strode]] of Deane, Somerset. He married [[family::Mary Strode|Mary Head]] in 1699.

He used an engraved armorial bookplate (‘James Strode, of Lincoln’s Inn Esq.’): Franks 28417.

There is no reference to books in his will, and the extent and the content of his library have not been established.
