Biographical Note

Son of Thomas Kenton of Salisbury, gentleman. BA Magdalen College, Oxford 1687, MA 1689, fellow 1691, BD 1702, DD 1707. Rector of Shenfield, Essex 1706.

Kenton's library was sold by retail sale in London, beginning 22.3.1716.

Characteristic Markings

A copy of S. Johnson, Julian's arts to undermine ... Christianity, 1688, now in a private collection, has the inscription "E Libris Joh: Kenton e Coll. Magd:" written across the head of the titlepage.
