In his will, Morris left investments for £5 to be paid annually in perpetuity to [[organisations::All Souls College, Oxford|All Souls]] and to [[organisations::Christ Church, Oxford|Christ Church]] for the purchase of [[subject::orientalism|oriental]] books; if either organisation defaulted in spending the money in time, it was to be diverted to the other. His own books are now found in many libraries; the extent of his library, and its dispersal, is not known. His will has no explicit reference to his books, and all his personal estate was left to his niece [[family::Mary May]].
