Sir John PARKER 1548-1619

Biographical Note

Son of Matthew Parker, Archbishop of Canterbury under Elizabeth I. Matriculated at Peterhouse, Cambridge 1562, but did not graduate; admitted to Gray's Inn, 1597. Knighted in 1603, he held various ecclesiastical administrative offices.

Books

Manuscripts and printed books in his possession around the end of the 16th century are listed in a memorandum book now in Lambeth Palace Library (MS 737), edited and analysed by Strongman (see below).
