John Towers ALLEN 1744-1788
Biographical Note
Born at Terrington, Norfolk, son of John Allen, gentleman. BA St John's College, Cambridge 1766, MA 1769; curate of Wiggenhall, Norfolk 1777, rector of Barwick St Mary 1783.
Books
Allen used an engraved armorial bookplate, showing the arms of Towers (rather than Allen; Franks 379). The extent and disposition of his library are not known.
