John WOOD d.1558

Biographical Note

Little is known about Wood except that he was a BA of Trinity College, Cambridge who had a couple of pupils while working towards his MA; he evidently died young. Administration of his estate was granted to his father, Reginald of Lindfield, Sussex, yeoman.

Books

Wood's probate inventory includes ca.130 books, valued at £4 9s 2d (from a total estate valued at nearly £9). The books are mostly in Latin, with some Greek, and cover a range of subjects relevant to the university curriculum, including theology, grammar, philosophy and classics.
