Biographical Note

Son of Phillips Gretton, rector of Springfield, Essex BA Pembroke College, Cambridge 1739, MA and fellow of Peterhouse 1742; rector of Roding and vicar of Good Easter, Essex.

Books

Gretton used an enrgraved armorial bookplate, dating from his time at Pembroke, which exists in two states (Franks 12815-6). The extent of his library is not known; his will has no mention of books, and the residue of his goods was left to be divided between his two daughters.
