Son of [[family::John Loyd]], of [[location::London]]. BA [[education::Trinity College, Cambridge]] 1703, [[occupation::fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge|fellow]] 1705, MA 1706, BD 1713, DD 1717. [[occupation::rector|Rector]] of [[location::Barnwell, Northamptonshire]] 1714.

Loyd used an engraved armorial bookplate, dated 1706, Franks 18492/*231 (reworked); the extent and disposition of his library is not known. The administration of his estate was registered in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury in 1723.
