Nicholas ACTON 1614-1664

Biographical Note

Son of Thomas Acton, of Bockleton, Worcestershire; the Acton family had held the manor of Bockleton since the end of the 15th century. Nicholas had no male heirs and the property passed to the Baldwin family after his death via the marriage of his daughter Elizabeth to Charles Baldwyn (d.1706).

Books

Acton’s probate inventory lists “in the study … two desks, books, a cupboard of drawers, a trunk and other small trifles”, valued at £20, within a total estate valued at £650.
