Nicholas WANTON 1544?-1618

Biographical Note

A member of the Grocers’ Company in London, who lived and died in York in the late 16th/early 17th century.

A number of surviving books in American libraries with Wanton’s inscription, motto and numbering system suggest that he had a library of at least 900 volumes.
