Paul CHAMBERLEN 1635-1717

Biographical Note

Son of Peter Chamberlen (1601-1683), physician, Paul also practised medicine, gaining fame as the quack doctor responsible for inventing the 'Anodyne Necklace'.

Books

Chamberlen's will makes no reference to books, all his goods and chattels being bequeathed to his wife, who was also his executrix. His library was sold in London by the bookseller Daniel Browne, beginning 27 February 1719.
