Biographical Note

Physician (?surgeon; described in his will as a doctor of physic) in London. His sale catalogue refers to him as "of the Temple".

Rotier's library was auctioned in London, 24.3.1715, with a further portion sold by retail sale, 27.6.1716. The first sale comprised 367 lots, divided between Greek, Latin and French books (257 lots, not divided by subject), and "English miscellanies" (67 lots). The second comprised 706 lots, divided between "Libri latini" (515 lots), "law" (135 lots), and "books omitted" (56 lots).
