Biographical Note

Born in Gloucestershire, son of John Freeman. Matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford 1661, but did not graduate; entered the Middle Temple, where he became a barrister in 1674. Through his friendship with John Somers, he was appointed Lord Chancellor of Ireland in 1707.

Books

Freeman used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 11343/*452); the extent of his library is not known, and he died intestate.
