Richard HARRISON 1611/12-1676

Biographical Note

Born in Minshull Vernon, Cheshire, son of Richard Harrison. BA Brasenose College, Oxford 1630, MA 1632. Vicar of St Mary, Lichfield 1645-47, when he was ejected; he spent much of the interregnum as curate or vicar at Tettenhall, Staffordshire. He was restored to his Lichfield living in 1660, and around the same time became a canon and subsequently chancellor of the Cathedral there. He was additionally rector of Blithfield, Staffordshire from 1668.

Books

Harrison’s probate inventory lists books “in the study” valued at £50 (from a total estate valuation of £400). The study also contained a table, shelves and boxes, and plate valued at £15.
