Biographical Note

Son of Robert Woodward, of Salford, Bedfordshire, gentleman. BCL New College, Oxford 1677, DCL 1685. Archdeacon of Wiltshire 1681, rector of Pewsey, Wiltshire 1685, chancellor of Salisbury 1684, Dean of Salisbury 1691.

Woodward's library was auctioned in London, 30.11.1702; the sale catalogue contains 1203 lots.
