====Biographical Note====
Son of [[family::William Raymond]] of [[location::London]], gentleman; in 1732 he inherited an estate at [[location::Belchamp Walter, Essex]] from a great-uncle. He matriculated at [[education::Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge]] in 1737, but did not graduate; ordained in 1755, he did not seek any ecclesiastical preferments, but lived on his estate.

====Books====
Raymond used an engraved armorial bookplate, which exists in four variant and slightly altered states (including Franks 24665-6). The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
