Thomas LAMPLUGH 1615-91

Biographical Note

Son of Christopher Lamplugh (d. in or before 1625) of Little Riston, Yorkshire. BA Queen's College, Oxford 1639; proceeded MA and elected a fellow of Queen's in 1642. Appointed rector of St Anthony's, London and archdeacon of London in 1664, and was admitted principal of St Alban Hall the same year. Made prebend of Worcester in 1669 and vicar of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London in 1670. In 1673 he was installed as dean of Rochester, bishop of Exeter in 1676 and archbishop of York 1688.

Books

Library auctioned in London (at least the Greek and Latin books), 8.2.1704 (the only recorded copy, at the National Library of Ireland, cannot be found today).
