Biographical Note

Son of Thomas Leigh, of Bishops Stortford, Essex, schoolmaster. BA Christ's College, Cambridge 1654, MA 1657, BD 1664; fellow of Emmanuel College, Cambridge 1657. Rector of Glendon, Northamptonshire 1666, Vicar of Bishops Stortford and master of the grammar school there 1680.

Books of Leigh's were acquired by Ralph Freman (d.1774), fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, who bequeathed them (with his other books) to All Souls; Craster notes that many 16th and 17th century pamphlets constitute an interesting part of this collection.
