Thomas REYNOLDS ca.1667-1727

Biographical Note

Born in London; he persuaded his father to send him to the nonconformist academy of Charles Morton at Stoke Newington Green. When the academy was broken up in 1685 he spent some time studying abroad before returning to London in 1689. He was ordained a presbyterian minister in 1694 and went to run a congregation at Great Eastcheap. He moved to another meeting house nearby at Little Eastcheap in 1697, and was based there until his death. He published a number of sermons and was elected a manager of the Presbyterian Fund in 1697.

Books

Reynolds's books were sold by retail sale in London, beginning 7 December 1730, along with those of his friend and fellow nonconformist minister Samuel Pomfret. No catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Journal and Daily Post.
