The library of "Mr. Shotbolt of the Inner-Temple, deceased", who may be a Thomas Shotbolt of Leighton Buzzard, was sold by retail sale in London, beginning 4.6.1724. The sale catalogue contains 1046 lots, divided between English books (577 lots), law (mostly English) (165), and Latin books (304); the titlepage summarises the contents as "chiefly history, law, divinity, classicks, voyages and travels, and poetry.
