Thomas Tertius OKEY b.1674

Biographical Note

Eldest son of Thomas Secundus Okey of Devizes and London (Professor of Physick). From a dissenting family. By 1697 he was "medicinae Professor" in London and father to Thomas Quartus Okey of London.

His medical dissertation was published in the Netherlands in 1704. Portrait engraving held by Royal College of Physicians http://rcp.adlibhosting.com/Details/collect/3174

Franks entry suggests that by 1708 he was living in Connecticut, calling himself Thomas Octavius Okey.

Books

Used an engraved armorial bookplate (arms: Okey, with 12 quarterings, with Lennard on an escutcheon): Franks 22256.

The extent and disposition of his library are not known.
