====Biographical Note====
Born at [[place of birth::Derby]], son of [[family::Richard Staniforth]], [[occupation::rector]] of [[location::Breadsall]].  BA [[education::Christ’s College, Cambridge]] 1652.  [[occupation::Curate]] of [[location::Allestree, Derbyshire]], 1657; ejected 1662.  Continued working in [[location::Derbyshire]] as an [[occupation::independent minister]], and sometimes arrested; licensed as a Presbyterian at [[location::Chaddesden]], 1672.
