Vesey SHAWE or SHAW d.1747

Biographical Note

Shawe's early career is not recorded; he was university anatomist at Trinity College, Dublin 1733-43, after which he became a military surgeon in Ireland. His death was noted in Faulkner's Journal in November 1747, and a transcript of his will is held in the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

Books

Shawe used an engraved armorial bookplate, "Vesey Shawe surgeon" (Franks 26627); the extent and disposition of his library are not known.
