William HERRIS or HARRIS ca.1585-1622

Biographical Note

Son of Sir William Herris of Cricksea, Essex. Educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he matriculated Fellow-Commoner in 1608 and graduated B.A. 1612. Subsequently admitted to Lincoln's Inn in February 1613.

A small number of books bearing the armorial stamp of Herris are held in the collections of several Cambridge Colleges, including those St. John's, Emmanuel, Magdalene and Pembroke.
