Biographical Note

Son of William Payne of Hutton, Essex. BA Magdalene College, Cambridge 1669, fellow 1671, MA 1672, DD 1689. Rector of Wormshill, Kent]] 1673, of St Mary, Whitechapel 1681, prebendary of Westminster 1694. Fellow of the Royal Society, 1681. He published numerous doctrinal and devotional works.
