Henry TRINDER d.1712

Biographical Note

Matriculated Trinity College, Oxford 1658 but did not graduate. Called to the bar at the Inner Temple 1668, bencher 1685, serjeant at law 1688. His will shows that at the time of his death he held property in Oxfordshire and his main residence was the manor of Berrey Court, Bentley, Hampshire.

Books

Trinder's will has no reference to books; his estate was divided between his son John and two daughters, Jane and Bridget. His library, together with that of "Mr Rice of Furnival's Inn", was sold in London by retail sale beginning 22 February 1712. No catalogue survives but the sale was advertised in The Daily Courant, "consisting of very valuable books of law, divinity, history, &c ... several of the law large paper and written references, also manuscripts".

Characteristic Markings

None of Trinder's books have been identified.
