Biographical Note

Born at Diss, Norfolk, son of Robert Camell, attorney. LL.B. Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge 1715, LL.D. 1723; rector of Lound, Suffolk and of Bradwell 1717, lecturer at St Peter Mancroft, Norwich 1731. A number of his sermons were published in 1726, and he is known to have helped the researches of the Norfolk historian Francis Blomefield.

Books

Camell used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 4931); his younger brother William, of whom no further biographical details are recorded, used a printed book label dated 1725. The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
